  1. daggerwin the windower and tedder look the same but they are diffrent as the tedder works as one even though it looks like the windower

  2. I honestly couldn't care less about 'virtual daggerwin'. Leave it for the Role Play series

  3. I really love that you make sure not to repeat the jobs too ofren, but If you Would like to get the New plot of land, Silage seems to be the key.

Fantastic Series. Looking forward to a possible vintage survival at a later stage 😎

  4. I’ve actually had to use a rotary mower like that to make hay when the sickle mower broke. Believe it or not it does work but it makes it too fine of a cut. You end up losing about half of the hay but in a pinch it does work.

  5. Why rush to sell when the price is going up?
And the green arrow means the price is going up, not down.

  6. I'm from Texas, and most the farmers around here use shredders for their hay instead of proper hay mowers. They're about a quarter of the cost and work just fine.

  7. Hey daggerwin in fact farmers in the United States use those mowers for ditches and then they bale the hay and give it to the cows along with alfalfa and silage

  8. 4:40

I am very late to this video- but I do have that type of mower and I use it to mow ~30-40 acres of pasture that we now use for hay now that we are out of the cattle business.

From my personal experience there isn't a ton of difference. We round bale and square bale occasionally, but I haven't been able to notice a difference in the bale quality.

  9. I love having virtual daggerwin in the series. I hope you do not make him move completely out of town. May be up under a shade tree or two would be nice. Thank you for the series

  10. In real life the grass cut with the topper would not be good hay. When cutting hay you only want to cut it one time.

  11. If you cut down a tree and lay it next to a stump so it is touching it when your run along the tree to get rid of the branches it will go red and delete the stump when you get along side it.

  12. For what it's worth, when I was a kid, the farmer next door used a batwing to do hay.

… Of course, he was also using John Deere tractors from the 50's, and a baler from the 40's in the 90's so all in all a real weird operation.

  13. You should move Virtual Dagger into the woods or over the cliff! Then you have that extra little bit for grass/hay/silage!

  14. I've been following this series from the start while doing the challenge too in my own little spin off. Love the vidz and all the mods you find as well soo keep it up! I've tested the GVS 6U and you have to purchase one from each category (Tedder / Windrower) you can't use one for both types. The only way to tell the difference though is by the colour which personally I find it very confusing especially when you grab the Tedder instead of the Windrower and make a mess instead of perfect lines.

  15. Daggerwin at 9:00 the GVS 6U there is a Tedder, where yours is a Windrower. If you look you'll notice you own the Windrower GVS 6U, but do not own the GVS 6U Tedder.
They are named and look the same, but are different. Consider buying the Tedder version and selling the more expensive tedder you bought. I wiuld just paint the Tedder a different color as to not mix them up. 🙂

  16. actually you can make hay with a brush hog if you take the guard off (in fs probably the no mulcher option)

  17. Maybe virtual daggerwin should start paying a lease for taking up and running his own business on your land

  18. Daggerwin, using a brush hog or batwing mower versus say a haybine or discbine isn't much difference. The only difference is the brush hog/batwing mower chops up the grass into smaller pieces whereas the haybine or discbine cuts the whole stalk of grass and doesn't chop it up as much.
